When Creality launched the 3D printer Creality CR-6 SE on the market, it caused a stir among their fans and customers. Soon after, they requested a new machine with the same functionality but with a larger print volume. Thus, the company was inspired to create the Creality CR-6 Max.
The 3D printer CR-6 Max offers the same features as the CR-6 SE, including automatic bed leveling and a touchscreen. The difference is that this model has a larger build volume - 400 x 400 x 400 mm. This makes the CR-6 Max the same size as the popular CR-10 S4.
The CR-6 Max becomes one of the largest and top-class wide-format 3D printers.
The CR-6 Max costs approximately $840, or about 1400 BGN. But are its features good enough to justify the price?

Features

Large area for creating 3D models.

"As we mentioned before, the CR-6 Max has the same specifications as the CR-6 SE. The main difference between the two models is the build volume."
The build plate for the CR-6 Max measures 400 by 400 mm, with a maximum construction height of also 400 mm. This gives you the ability to create much larger 3D printing objects without having to slice your model into pieces.
"Also, the 24-volt power supply of the printer suggests that the heated bed will be able to reach higher temperatures faster and more easily than was possible on earlier wide-format machines from Creality."

Reinforced vertical axis

"With the help of these supports, you will be able to print 3D in height, without worrying about excessive shaking when working on the upper limits of the build volume."

Automatic leveling system

The CR-6 Max features the same innovative leveling system as the CR-6 SE, using a pressure-sensitive sensor. It touches the nozzle to specific points on the bed, after which a hot end tension sensor detects the exact point where the nozzle touches the glass.
The automatic leveling system of the CR-6 Max has numerous advantages. One of them is the fact that no additional calibration of offsets, other than the initial Z height, is necessary. Furthermore, this system removes the knobs from the underside of the bed, which is a relief for anyone with experience in leveling such large-format machines.

Touch screen

CR-6 Max, just like CR-6 SE, features a 4.3-inch portrait-oriented color touchscreen. It allows users to quickly and easily navigate through the intuitive menus or check the print status.

Facilities

The CR-6 Max 3D printer is not as portable as the CR-6 SE. However, it includes many features that enhance work quality, such as the convenient built-in tool drawer and the foldable spool holder that supports the filament.
"Also, the CR-6 Max has a glass plate coated with carborundum (silicon carbide), offering the same kind of adhesion as the Anycubic Ultrabase. The said construction plate can be removed, but you need to be careful while doing so due to its massive size."

Additional features

Modular nozzle

Users can deactivate the nozzle and replace the radiator, heater, Teflon tube, or nozzle tip with the included spare parts.
Thread sensor
The CR-6 Max is equipped with a photoelectric sensor that detects any possible breakages or thread leaks.
Print Recovery Function
With the CR-6 Max, you can fully recover and resume printing after a pause.
32-bit motherboard
for improved performance
TMC2209 Motor Drivers
for more precise and silent operation with the printer.
Mean Well power supply
"CR-6 Max, as well as CR-6 SE, comes with high-quality Mean Well power supplies that extend the lifespan of the hardware."
