Who is it for?

The book is built on a unique "Knowledge Roadmap" that allows for different levels of reading:

1. Discoverers – students, hobbyists, beginners
3D printing basics, choosing your first printer, materials, FDM checklists and getting started.

2. Experimenters - designers, artists, makers
3D modelling (Fusion 360, Blender), slicing techniques, resin technologies (SLA/DLP), detail work.

3. Innovators - engineers, entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses
Industrial technologies (SLS, MJF), reverse engineering, functional production, real Bulgarian cases.

4. Pioneers – experts, researchers, academics
Metal printing (DMLS, EBM), bioprinting, high-tech materials (PEEK, titanium alloys), AI and generative design.

Content structure

● Part I – Why?
3D printing in Industry 4.0, STEM education, sustainable manufacturing and future professions.

● Part II – How?
Technical core: principles, processes, materials, design rules, 3D scanning, CAD, software and post-processing.

The Big Book of 3D Printing is not just a book. It is a tool for education, industry and the future.

About the author

Krasimir Georgiev is a mechanical engineer, entrepreneur and additive technology expert with over 10 years of hands-on experience in 3D design, prototyping and manufacturing. He is the founder of the educational initiative Edufacturing, aimed at the development of technological education, STEM and the professions of the future in Bulgaria.

In his professional path, he has worked both with hobby and educational systems, as well as with industrial solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The experience gained in real projects, mistakes and successful applications is the basis of the content of the book.

The "Big Book of 3D Printing" was created over 1500 hours of independent work, without a publisher, without funding and without a team, with the clear aim of bringing together in one place knowledge that until now has been fragmented, difficult to access and mostly in foreign languages.

The author believes that access to understandable and practical technological knowledge is key to the development of the industry, education and the next generation of creators in Bulgaria.

Practical start: knowledge, printer and material

The book is most useful when you combine it with real-world samples: printer setup, material selection, and comparison between different 3D printing applications.

Is the book suitable for beginners?

Yes — there is a clear "road map" for reading and separate levels, so you can start from the basics without getting lost. Besides theory, you receive checklists, tables, and visual aids that speed up the first real results.

What technologies does it cover besides FDM and resin?
Which material should I choose: PLA, PETG, or ABS?
What software do I need and which programs are included?
Is there troubleshooting and post-processing (after printing)?
Are there real cases and guidelines for price/calculations?
Does it cover copyrights, formats, and where to get models from?
