What is Polymaker Panchroma™ Glow PLA?

Polymaker Panchroma Glow PLA is a high-quality 3D printing filament designed for projects that require a bright, impressive glow-in-the-dark effect. Thanks to the special luminophore pigment (aluminum strontium oxide), this filament absorbs light during the day and emits a neon glow at night or in the absence of lighting.

This makes Panchroma Glow PLA perfect for artistic, decorative and functional applications, including design elements, souvenirs, toys and educational models.

Main benefits of Panchroma Glow PLA

  • Glow in the dark effect: Provides a clearly visible and long-lasting glow in low-light conditions.

  • Easy to 3D print: Compatible with standard PLA setups, no need for an enclosure or complicated preparation.

  • PLA-based material: Uses a familiar PLA printing workflow.

  • Excellent detail: Provides a smooth surface and precise results.

Technical characteristics and recommendations for 3D printing

For best results when working with Panchroma Glow PLA, we recommend the following settings:

  • Filament diameter: 1.75 mm (±0.03 mm)

  • Recommended Extruder Temperature: 190°C – 230°C

  • Heating platform temperature: 25°C – 60°C

  • Recommended 3D Printing Speed: up to 200 mm/s

  • Cooling: On (100%)

  • Recommended nozzle: Hardened steel 0.4 mm – a must to avoid premature wear.

  • Retraction: 1 mm for Direct Drive, up to 3 mm for Bowden systems

The filament contains an abrasive pigment, necessitating the use of a hardened steel nozzle to maintain print quality and equipment longevity.

Applications and project ideas with Panchroma Glow PLA

Panchroma Glow PLA filament is suitable for a variety of applications:

  • Artistic and decorative objects

  • Glow in the dark toys and figurines

  • Educational models for demonstrations

  • Advertising materials and promotional products

  • Safety features and markings visible in the dark

Storage and maintenance tips for Panchroma Glow PLA

It is recommended to store the filament in a dry room, away from moisture and direct sunlight. If necessary, dry the material at 55°C for about 6 hours to avoid printing defects such as bubbles and surface unevenness.

How does the glowing effect of Panchroma Glow PLA work?

The filament contains a luminescent pigment that absorbs light during the day and gradually emits it in the dark. This provides a bright green glow without additional energy sources.
