Key benefits
- Fillamentum PLA Crystal Clear is a transparent and translucent PLA filament for FFF/FDM 3D printing.
- Diameter 1.75 mm and diameter tolerance ±0.05 mm for stable feed.
- 1 kg options: Crystal Clear, Iceland Blue and Amethyst Purple.
- Smaragd Green 750 g is a residual 750g variant with a separate lower price.
- Suitable for visual prototypes, diffusers, vases, decorative details and models with a glossy transparent effect.
Who is Fillamentum PLA Crystal Clear suitable for?
Fillamentum PLA Crystal Clear is a series of PLA filaments for users looking for pure visual effect, gloss and translucency in FFF/FDM 3D printing. The material is suitable for decorative objects, lighting elements, visual prototypes, training models and presentation samples.
With FFF/FDM technology, the end result is not completely optically transparent like glass. Layers, infill, moisture, and cooldown settings all affect clarity. The best effect is achieved with dry material, smooth extrusion, thin walls, minimal filling and well-adjusted flow.
Colours and weights
The selection is made as one colour option to make the page easier to use. Crystal Clear, Iceland Blue and Amethyst Purple are 1 kg variants. Smaragd Green 750g is separately marked in the variant name because it is 750g and has a lower price.
| Variant | Grammage | Diameter |
|---|---|---|
| Crystal Clear | 1 kg | 1.75 mm |
| Iceland Blue | 1 kg | 1.75 mm |
| Amethyst Purple | 1 kg | 1.75 mm |
| Smaragd Green 750 g | 750 g | 1.75 mm |
3D printing settings
Start with a standard PLA profile and do a short test for the specific 3D printer. For the Crystal Clear series, a nozzle around usually works well 210-230 °C. With a heated pad, use an adjustment according to surface and adhesion, a practical start is approx 50-60 °C.
For a cleaner transparent effect, avoid too high speed, strong cooling, lots of retractions and dense internal filling. For models aiming for maximum translucency, test vase mode, thicker single stroke and lower fill.
Good practices
- Store the spool in a dry box or sealed bag with silica gel.
- If moisture is suspected, dry the material approx 4 hours at 50 °C.
- Clean the nozzle before printing because remnants of previous material are more visible with transparent colours.
- Make a small test pattern before a large detail, especially if the goal is an even translucent finish.
